Private & Christian School Marketing

Private schools compete for families who have choices. Parents are weighing tuition against a free public option, comparing you with other private schools, and trying to picture whether their child will thrive in your community. Faith-based schools have one more job: explaining how faith shapes daily life, clearly and warmly, to families who may not share your background.

School Radius helps private, Christian, Lutheran, and other independent schools tell that story and turn interest into tours and enrollment. Private and faith-based schools are a large part of our school work, including Lakewood Park Christian School, Saint Paul's Lutheran School, Emmanuel-St. Michael School, and Lighthouse Christian Academy.

What makes private school marketing different

    • Tuition is the elephant in the room. Families who assume they cannot afford you often never inquire. Schools that are open about tuition ranges, financial aid, payment plans, and scholarship programs attract more serious, better-fit families.

    • Word of mouth is powerful but unpredictable. Your current families are your best advocates, yet referrals alone rarely produce a steady flow of new inquiries. Schools that grow consistently add year-round advertising and a simple way for interested parents to raise their hand.

    • The decision is long. Families often research private schools for months before applying. A single open house invitation is not enough. Consistent, helpful follow-up over weeks is what keeps your school in the running.

    • Mission has to be concrete. “Christ-centered education” or “academic excellence” appears on almost every private school website. Parents respond to specifics: what chapel looks like, how teachers know each child, what graduates go on to do.

How we help private and Christian schools

    Mission-first, parent-focused messaging

We use the StoryBrand framework to put the parent's goals first and position your school as the guide. Your faith and mission become the reason families choose you, not a paragraph they skim past.

    Affordability made clear

We build tuition and affordability pages and tools, such as tuition calculators, that answer the cost question honestly and invite families to talk with admissions instead of ruling you out.

    Year-round parent advertising

Targeted Meta and Google campaigns reach parents in your area and capture those already searching for a private or Christian school nearby. We pair ads with lead magnets like parent guides and school-fit quizzes so interest turns into inquiries.

Follow-up that never forgets a family

Every inquiry goes into Radius CRM, where automated email and text sequences share your story, answer common questions, and invite families to tour. Your admissions team sees every family in one place, and tour booking takes a couple of clicks.

Websites, video, and print that feel like your school

We design school websites, enrollment packets, postcards, social campaigns, and video. Authentic photos and parent and student stories build trust in a way stock images cannot.

For Indiana private schools: the Choice Scholarship is now universal

Starting with the 2026-27 school year, Indiana removed the income limit on the Choice Scholarship, the state's voucher program. Any Indiana student with legal settlement who meets the age requirements can use a Choice Scholarship at a participating school. Many families who never considered private school do not know this yet.

If your school participates, your marketing should say so plainly: explain what the Choice Scholarship is, how it affects what a family actually pays, and when to apply. (The second application period for 2026-27 runs November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027.) We help Indiana schools build Choice Scholarship pages, calculators, and campaigns that reach families who assume private school is out of reach. Learn more about our work with Indiana schools.

    Frequently asked questions

Do you work with Catholic and Lutheran schools?

Yes. We work with Christian and Lutheran schools, and the same approach works for Catholic and other faith-based schools: clear mission-first messaging, honest affordability information, and consistent follow-up with families.

    Should we publish our tuition?

In most cases, yes. Hiding tuition tends to cost you inquiries from serious families who rule themselves out. Publishing ranges alongside financial aid, payment plans, and scholarship options such as Indiana's Choice Scholarship builds trust and brings in better-fit families.

Our school depends on word of mouth. Why add advertising?

Referrals are valuable but hard to predict. Year-round advertising and a simple inquiry process create a steady pipeline, so enrollment does not depend on which families happen to mention you this year. We also build referral tools and events into the plan so your current families can bring friends.

Do you replace our SIS or admissions software?

No. We work alongside your SIS (FACTS, RenWeb, Blackbaud, and others). We handle marketing and inquiry follow-up; once a family applies, your admissions process takes over.

Can you help with a single project, like an enrollment packet or video?

Yes. Many schools start with a one-off project such as a website, enrollment packet, postcard campaign, or school story video, and add ongoing marketing later.
